Virtual panels of AI doctors collaborate to diagnose rare cases

Researchers created an AI system that simulates a panel of specialized doctors debating complex diagnostic cases. In tests on over 300 difficult medical files, the collaborative virtual panel accurately diagnosed 80% of cases, outperforming individual human physicians. The approach is now undergoing real world clinical trial evaluation with patients at a hospital in Boston.
