UBTECH launches high volume manufacturing facility for humanoid robots

Chinese robotics manufacturer UBTECH opened a large factory in Liuzhou designed to construct over ten thousand humanoid machines every year, as reported by Interesting Engineering. The facility relies on flexible assembly lines, digital twin software built with Siemens, and automated machinery to complete a unit roughly every ten minutes. In a notable operational twist, existing humanoid models are deployed directly on the production floor to assist in building the next generation.

For everyday workers and consumers, this transition signals a shift from experimental prototypes toward commercial scale. Bipedal automatons were long restricted to laboratory demos or limited trial projects, but continuous output could eventually lower costs enough to make them routine helpers in logistics, manufacturing, and commercial settings.

However, it remains unclear whether immediate customer demand will match such rapid output. As competition grows among global rivals like Tesla and Figure AI, the real bottleneck may shift from physical manufacturing capabilities to whether AI software can safely handle unpredictable real world environments without continuous human supervision.
