Taiwanese prosecutors target network accused of illicitly shipping AI hardware to China

Authorities in Taiwan charged nine people, including an Nvidia distribution employee and former Supermicro staff, for smuggling advanced Blackwell AI servers into China. The operation involved ordering 130 Supermicro server units containing Blackwell chips, with over 70 servers reaching buyers before law enforcement intervened. Officials noted that while significant, the intercepted volume remains far below what is needed to construct a major AI training cluster.
