France and UAE invest 1 billion dollars in AI powered satellite fleet
A joint French and Emirati coalition announced a billion dollar initiative to build a 50 satellite constellation featuring onboard AI capabilities. The spacecraft will process Earth observation images directly in orbit to deliver near real time alerts for maritime operations and environmental monitoring. The project incorporates AI models from Mistral AI alongside satellite hardware supplied by BlackSky.
