Instead of relying on copy and paste routines with external translation apps, users can select communication styles tailored for work colleagues, partners, or casual friends directly inside their active messaging app.

For anyone communicating across foreign languages, keeping the right level of politeness or warmth is often challenging. Traditional automated tools tend to yield overly literal translations that can sound surprisingly cold or rude. By letting users tweak the underlying tone before inserting translated text into a chat window, the tool aims to reduce cross-cultural awkwardness in daily texting.

According to the official listing on Apple's App Store, the service encrypts text during transmission and avoids storing conversations in a permanent log. However, because network based keyboards on iOS require full system access to reach online translation engines, privacy conscious consumers might still feel wary. The app offers 50 free translation requests upfront before requiring users to purchase credit refill packages.

What remains unclear is whether microtransaction credits for custom translation keyboards can survive as phone makers increasingly build similar artificial intelligence capabilities into mobile operating systems for free. Unless specialized third-party keyboards offer vastly superior cultural nuances, convincing casual users to pay per text could prove to be an uphill battle.
