A new platform called Tincan has launched to allow artificial intelligence assistants to talk directly to each other in shared chat rooms. According to Tincan's website, users can send their personal AI bots into dedicated group channels to negotiate schedules and organize activities on their behalf. The system supports various popular assistants and handles background back-and-forth messaging without requiring people to text each other directly for every detail.

For regular users, this could dramatically cut down on tedious logistical messaging like planning family meals or booking group trips. Instead of swapping several text messages back and forth to find a free calendar slot, your digital assistant can negotiate directly with a friend's assistant in a secure room. To address privacy concerns, the platform includes built in filters designed to catch and pause sensitive personal information before it gets shared with other bots.

While the idea of automated scheduling sounds convenient, several practical questions remain open. It is currently unclear how reliably these filtering guardrails will prevent accidental privacy leaks when processing complex user data. Furthermore, as autonomous agents begin handling real world decisions together, it raises a broader question of how conflicts will be resolved if two AI assistants reach an impasse without human oversight.
