Robotics company hires human handlers to walk robot dogs and gather training data

A San Francisco startup is paying human handlers to guide four-legged robot dogs along public sidewalks. As workers steer the machines with remotes, built in camera sensors record navigation data to train autonomous walking algorithms. The gathered data is shared openly so developers across the industry can improve robotic control software.
