According to the developer's website, the application now uses Apple Intelligence locally on Mac computers to predict what users might want to insert next based on their current activity. Additionally, the software can feed saved text, code, and imagery into external coding tools and language models like Claude and Cursor as context.

For everyday users and digital professionals who handle heavy volumes of text, links, or design assets, traditional clipboards are often limiting because copying a new item instantly overwrites the previous one. By storing a searchable, unlimited history across Mac, iPhone, and iPad, Paste allows users to retrieve older snippets at any point. The ability to pipe this history into AI tools saves time by eliminating the tedious back and forth of manually transferring background context into chat boxes.

The developer emphasizes that data privacy is maintained by storing content locally or within a user's private iCloud space, alongside automated settings to ignore password managers. However, as desktop software gains tighter integration with third-party generative assistants, it remains unclear how effectively these tools will prevent users from inadvertently sharing sensitive clipboard data with outside models.
