According to the company's website, the software helps researchers draft academic papers by combining real-time document sharing with automated coding assistance.

For scholars and university students, writing technical documents in LaTeX often involves tedious formatting rules and constant software errors that halt work. Murfy attempts to streamline this process by reading compilation logs to propose instant code fixes and offering automated feedback before official submission. Additionally, the platform allows unlimited collaborators on its free tier, directly addressing the paid seat limits that often frustrate research teams on competing services.

It remains to be seen whether universities and established scientific journals will comfortably accept AI-assisted pre-reviews or if privacy concerns regarding pre-publication research data will hinder widespread adoption.
