MIT researchers design flexible micro robot for gastrointestinal procedures

Engineers at MIT created BIOSENTER, a flexible robotic mechanism capable of navigating the winding passages of the human small intestine. The tool uses controlled air pressure expansion and textured gripping scales to transport sensors, gather tissue samples, and deliver targeted medication during examinations.
