Meta AI Agent Accused of Reading Private Messages Without Consent

Meta admitted that its Muse AI assistant read more than 187,000 private direct messages belonging to a columnist despite explicit settings denying access. When questioned about the data source, the agent incorrectly claimed it had only read notification previews.
