Gridset

Document creation software company Lumin has released Gridset, a new tool aimed at helping organizations generate polished, branded documents automatically. Users can feed in existing text from sources like Google Docs or Notion, or even generate drafts directly inside AI chatbots like ChatGPT and Claude. Gridset then applies the organization's specific color palettes, fonts, and layout rules to produce formatted slides, reports, and PDFs.

For everyday office workers, creating slides and reports often involves tedious manual adjustments to fonts, margins, and logos. By automatically scanning a company website or style guide to enforce layout constraints, Gridset aims to eliminate the visual clutter and inconsistency that frequently plagues corporate materials. This allows non-designers in sales, HR, or marketing to quickly export clean files without relying on dedicated design teams.

However, automated design tools frequently struggle when handling complex tables, unique graphics, or unusual content structures. It remains to be seen whether Gridset can maintain high visual standards without forcing users back into manual editing tools like PowerPoint for final tweaks. Additionally, as AI assistants become better at native formatting, dedicated styling layers like Gridset will need to continuously prove their unique value to enterprise customers.
