Instead of relying solely on general purpose frontier models, the company adapted an open base model from MiniMax and trained it alongside Fireworks AI to optimize slide design, structure, and content creation.

For average workers, this development means access to higher quality automated presentation tools without elevated subscription costs. Genspark reports that its custom software matches the output standards of leading engines like Claude Opus 5 while operating at about a seventeenth of the underlying computational expense. As a result, users can generate polished slides in standard product modes without paying extra fees.

It remains to be seen how well this specialized approach handles highly technical topics or unusual design layouts that fall outside typical corporate formats. Additionally, as open base software grows more capable, it raises the question of whether smaller app creators will increasingly shift toward training custom models rather than paying ongoing fees to major AI providers.
