Aleph Alpha Releases Open Source Kolibri Model Optimized for German and English

German startup Aleph Alpha launched Kolibri, an open weight reasoning model distributed under an Apache 2.0 open source license. The system uses a mixture of experts architecture that keeps compute costs low by activating only a fraction of its parameters during inference.
